Migrations are included with your plan and handled by our team. The number of sites covered depends on which plan you are on.
What we need
- Your current control panel URL and login, or a full backup file we can download.
- A list of the domains involved, including any subdomains and addon domains.
- Whether email is hosted with your current provider and needs to move too.
What happens next
We copy files, databases, mailboxes and cron jobs to your new account while your existing site keeps serving traffic. You then get a preview URL to check the site works before anything changes publicly.
Switching over without downtime
Lower your domain's DNS TTL to 300 seconds a day before the switch. When you are ready, change the nameservers or A record. Because both the old and new sites are live during propagation, visitors reach a working site either way. We re-issue SSL once the domain resolves to us.
Keep your old hosting active for a week afterwards. It costs one extra month at most and it means a mistake is recoverable rather than a crisis.
